Noise Canceling Earbuds

When it comes to noise canceling ear buds or anything about audio and video entertainment, Sony is one of the best companies and manufacturers out there. Sony noise canceling earbuds alone have been doing very well for the last 8 years.

That explains why my expectations are high and I was giddy like a school girl when the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds were released. I immediately got me and my brother a set of these noise canceling ear buds and my verdict? These are great and lived up to my expectations.

The Fit And Finish
The very first thing that got my attention is that the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds are very nicely finished. They come in 3 head turning colors – black, white, as well as pink. The unit I got was white and it comes with a perfect blend of opalescent as well as matte finish applied to the noise canceling unit. Along with that, the control unit is pleasantly small and comes with a good and easy to use on and off switch, shirt clip, as well as a monitor button to keep everything under control.

The Performance Of The Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds
You may have the best looking noise canceling ear buds BUT if they don’t deliver, all of those good looks have gone to waste. Fortunately, the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds perform as good as they look. The first time I plugged and flipped them on, I was impressed right away. I was at the airport lounge when I first used these noise canceling ear buds.

Initially, I thought they won’t live up to my high expectations since they don’t seal as nicely as my previous noise canceling ear buds – the NC10. And as we all know, when it comes to passive noise canceling, it all boils down on how good they fit on your ear. HOWEVER, it wasn’t long before I realized that the noise canceling power of these ear buds are so much better than the previous models. It’s much more aggressive than the old ones and this resulted to an overall better effect.

The hum from the air, the endless chatter from the TV, and everything in between – all of these noises disappeared as soon as I put the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds on.

The sound quality that the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds deliver is as good as the NC10’s. Just in case you don’t know, the NC10 noise canceling ear buds deliver amazing sound quality and it is at par with my tried, tested, but old MDR V6 studio monitors. Along with that, the monitor button also works better than the NC10 and the sound that the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds produce better imitates the sound you would hear without the head phones on.

The only thing I haven’t tested so far is the battery life. HOWEVER, looking at the specs, which is very much identical to the NC10’s (PLUS with a lot of improvements), I can say that the Sony MDR-NC22 Noise Canceling Ear Buds would have amazing longevity too.
